Romantic/ drama Actors and Actresses

Actors and actresses are chosen because they have specific characteristics that is relegate and relate to the character. By having the right actor/ actress for the film, it makes the movie look more natural and meant to be. 

For example, in Titanic the director James Cameron chose Leonardo DiCaprio to play the 17year old boy named Jack Dawson. Titanic is one of the most well known romantic movies. In the movie, Leonardo dicaprio’s figure and characteristics help creates depth within the character because he acts mature yet a playful teenage boy. In addition, the movies success can be tied back to the lead male actor due to his young age and attractive looks; this helps to create a young female fan base for the film and establishing an audience.

On the other hand, the actress that acted in this film was Kate Winslet. She played the part as Rose DeWitt Bukater, a beautiful young woman with long brown hair,  and enchanting blue eyes. When they were looking for these actors, research shows that audiences would like an attractive couple that suit each other. In addition, study show that a majority of people would like to have a white christian woman. A lot of research and planning went into character development which is why having the right actress would make he film successful. Usually a romantic film like this also have codes and conventions and by having the 'attractive couple' it creates model images and it makes the audience want to watch more because the story might get interesting.
